Summer is the perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, biking, and hiking. However, many people curl up and do nothing during the cold winter months. Overcome the cold with som warming exercise! Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise most days of the week.
3) Prioritise relaxation and Self-Care:
Take some time each day to relax and de-stress. Practice yoga, meditation, or simply spend time in nature. Why nature is good for you? It calms your mind and provides you with oxygen. Although it is cold outside, have some clothes layers and embrace the outdoors. Also schedule regular self-care activities. This could include getting a massage, reading a book, or taking a bubble bath.
4) Get enough sleep:
When you're well-rested, you'll have more energy to enjoy the activities you love. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Can’t sleep well? Avoid computer and mobile screens in the evening and opt for a book, some music or something else analogue. Moreover, avoid to much caffein and alcohol. These substances can interfere with sleep and make it harder to relax.
5) Spend time with loved ones:
This sounds like a no-brainer, but recall the last time you had quality time with your loved ones? Without looking at a screen each! Social connections are important for your well-being as certain hormones are activated that soothe you and calm you down. Therefore, clear your busy schedule and make time to connect with friends and family.
6) Stay hydrated:
Especially with heated air you are likely to not notice how dried up you are. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated or also unsugared teas, especially when exercising or spending time outside.
